About Greenwood Court:
Greenwood Court is designed as a 'Community of Care' where seniors are able to age in place. As the needs of our seniors change, they have access to additional services and supports without having to leave familiar surroundings or newly developed friendships. Staff and volunteers are committed to making Greenwood Court "a place to call home" for its residents.

About the Position:

Under the direction of the Director of Care, the RN supervises hourly resident care department staff in accordance with the established standards, policies and procedures.

Under the direction of the Director of Care, the RN supervises RPN's and PSW's staff in accordance with the established standards, policies and procedures. The RN provides, oversees, and manages the care of residents following the guiding principles and standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. The RN advocates for quality of life for the residents by modelling leadership, ethics, advocacy, and excellence in the assessment process ensuring safe resident-focused experience. The RN actively leads and contributes to the Greenwood long term care team meetings, committees, care planning, and resident Care Conferences.

Wage:

$ 35.97 to $ 52.21 hourly + premiums

Qualifications:

    • Registered Nurse certified by the College of Nurses of Ontario
    • Post graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration an asset

    Experience:

    • Minimum one-year experience in a Long-Term Care setting

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Thorough knowledge of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and associated regulations including Resident Quality Inspection Process
    • Demonstrated leadership experience and strong communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Demonstrated problem solving abilities to lead unregulated healthcare workers and provide effective care.
    • Well organized and goal oriented to be able to manage the resident home area and assign duties.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, email, internet use and computerized documentation.
    • Advanced computer skill in nursing systems such as Point Click Care an asset
