Job description

Job Summary:
Derenz Logistics is seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Logistics Coordinator to support daily freight operations at our Rensselaer, IN terminal. As an agent for Packard Transport, we specialize in open-deck freight with a focus on professionalism, safety, and high-level customer service.

This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Freight industry experience is a plus but not required — we’re willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Book and schedule flatbed, stepdeck, and heavy haul freight across the U.S.
  • Coordinate with drivers, dispatchers, and shippers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
  • Communicate daily with customers regarding shipment status and updates
  • Track loads and resolve exceptions or delays with urgency and professionalism
  • Accurately update shipment data in our internal systems
  • Provide driver support and check-ins to ensure compliance with load requirements
  • Assist in general terminal operations and support the team as needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous logistics, dispatch, or customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent phone and email communication skills
  • High attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced setting
  • Comfortable using computers, email, and Excel
  • Freight or TMS software knowledge is a plus (training provided)
