Job description

**MUST BE OPEN TO RELOCATION**

Responsible for learning all aspects of overall distribution center operations; to include customer service, asset management, financials, and team members. Responsible for understanding the reporting role of a DCM to DC Regional Director, to include all reports, communications, approvals needed to run the DC Operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Training to oversee all aspects of operations within our distribution center, including physical assets, operating costs, safety, loss prevention, inventory integrity, and team members.
Training to fully understand and comply with all responsibility a DC Manager has in managing all distribution center expenses.
Learning all aspects of customer service to the stores by maintaining on time delivery, accuracy of shipments and good customer relations.
Learning daily operational tasks of a DC to ensure day to day compliance with company operations, policies, and procedures.
Learning all areas of team member relations to facilitate training, guidance, and counseling as needed to DC team member.
Responsible for the management of all salary and hourly team members.
Learning how to provide excellent leadership throughout the DC, while working to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
Cross training with DC Manager and Regional Director to establish annual goals for a distribution center as well as the development plan that will be followed to accomplish goals.
Learning how to partner with Human Resources to develop overall team member support and effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
Understanding the DC evaluation process and importance of timely evaluations.
Cross training with DC Manager and Regional Director to prepare annual operating, labor, and capital expenditure budgets for a distribution center.
Learning the expense approval processes for distribution centers and training on how to efficiently provide expense approvals while watching all DC spending/budgets.
Training in all areas of the distribution center to understand the O'Reilly warehouse management system and all related technology, devices and programs utilized to manage the warehouse operation.
Cross training with DC Transportation Supervisor and Corporate Transportation team to understand all Transportation systems, equipment/technology, Federal and State DOT regulations, and the O'Reilly route bid process.
Training with our Legal and HR teams in all areas of union avoidance, as well as completion of all related courses.
Training to ensure a safe working environment and aggressive management of all risk and risk related costs.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Excellent communication, leadership, and people skills.

Above average computer skills.

High school graduate or equivalent.

Demonstrated ability to manage multi-task operations.

Desired:

College degree or logistics certification.

Four years or more of successful management or assistant management in a distribution center.

Bilingual English/Spanish.
