PART TIME RESEARCH SCHOLAR
New York University Tandon School of Engineering
Quantum Geometric Intelligence (QGI) Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Part Time Scholar to work with Prof. Amine Mohamed Aboussalah. The Department of Finance and Risk Engineering (FRE) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is a leader in quantitative finance and applied mathematics education and research, offering innovative courses and fostering strong industry connections.
Responsibilities
Candidates will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning and C++ prototype models. Responsibilities include coding and running machine learning experiments, analyzing and interpreting experimental results, and contributing to the design and evaluation of research ideas and methodologies. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in machine learning research, as evidenced by a strong publication record. Previous experience with C++ is required. Experience with experimental research workflows, reproducible implementation, and scientific communication is highly desirable.
Salary range
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $27.77 per hour depending on the candidate's experience and qualification.
Expected start date and period of employment
Expected start date is 5/1/2026. This position is expected to be for 6 months with possibility of extension, depending on available funding and performance. This is a part time appointment and would require a work schedule of approximately 27 hours per week.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least a MS in computer science, engineering, or a related field and 3 or more years of experience. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
