Summary:
Provides expert-level technical support for Epic MyChart, including development, testing, integration, and implementation of patient-facing tools across the health system. Supports enterprise digital health strategy by delivering solutions that enhance patient engagement, streamline workflows, and meet clinical and operational needs. Performs project management, requirements gathering, system design, development, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination with a strong emphasis on Epic MyChart functionality and optimization.
Responsibilities:
  1. Epic MyChart Strategy & Solution Design: Collaborates with IT and operational teams to assess needs and evaluate solutions within Epic MyChart, including features like eCheck-In, Open Scheduling, Bedside, and Video Visits. Ensures solutions align with enterprise standards, digital strategy, and regulatory requirements. Provides guidance to other analysts on MyChart configuration best practices and methodologies.
  2. Documentation & Support: Develops and maintains clear, comprehensive documentation for MyChart configurations, system changes, enhancements, and troubleshooting efforts. Updates support and technical documentation to reflect current system status and capabilities.
  3. Solution Development & Evaluation: Leads or participates in the design and implementation of new MyChart features, integrations, and requests. Assesses feasibility and system impact of enhancements, formulates implementation plans, and drives best practice build for high-impact projects.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration & Technical Consulting: Serves as a subject matter expert for Epic MyChart across clinical, operational, and IT teams. Partners with stakeholders to improve portal utilization and user experience. Participates in system-wide initiatives such as governance councils or strategic working groups focused on digital engagement.
  5. Project Updates & Communication: Provides timely updates on task and project status to leadership and stakeholders. Communicates issues, progress, and timelines through written and verbal reports. Supports change management and end-user education as needed.

Preferred Qualifications / Areas of Knowledge (Not Required but Preferred):
  • Familiarity with Epic MyChart Bedside and Inpatient workflows (e.g., patient education, device testing, and bedside feature configuration)
  • Experience with scheduling/registration MyChart build, such as Open Scheduling, Direct Scheduling, and eCheck-In workflows.
  • Understanding of Care Companion features and collaboration with Ambulatory teams.
  • Experience with MyChart Questionnaire build, particularly as it applies to Bedside or Inpatient use cases.
  • Knowledge of Communication Concepts, including Ticklers and Hello World setup for patient messaging.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze, identify, and resolve issues independently or in collaboration with other teams.
  • Capability to lead projects or components of initiatives, coordinating with cross-functional teams when necessary.

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
• If a Bachelor's degree: Four (4) years of experience with IT systems and/or related operational experience.
• If an Associate's degree: Six (6) years of IT systems and/or related operational experience.
• If a High School diploma or GED: Eight (8) years of IT systems and/or related operational experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Highly responsive to internal customers.
