Job description

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall repairs, and painting.
  • Driver license MUST be in good standing.
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 background screening.


Salary: $17.00 to $19.20 / hourly - based on experience level.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm


The Maintenance Technician assists the Director of Facilities in the overall maintenance and care of the grounds, buildings, systems and vehicles.

  • Assists the Director of Facilities with the maintenance and care of the facilities, grounds and vehicles.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards of emergency and life safety systems.
  • Communicates with all hired contractors, reporting any problems directly to the Director of Facilities.
  • Assists the Director of Facilities with ensuring that all maintenance equipment, vehicles and housekeeping systems are in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, guidelines and policies.
  • Assists the Director of Facilities in ensuring that the plumbing, electrical and water systems of the agency’s operated facilities meet agency and regulatory standards at all times.
  • Keeps track of current maintenance needs with the assistance of the Director of Facilities.
  • Tracks relevant information (receipts/records) regarding all repair and maintenance costs.
  • Consistently maintains applicable sanitation standards of the City Health Department and other regulatory agencies at all facilities.
  • Required to be on-call on a rotating schedule and may be required to work occasional overtime.
  • Models appropriate and professional behavior (i.e., dress, habits, personality, tact, etc.)
  • Relates with clients, parents, peers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner in person and phone interaction.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.

Physical Demands:

The employee will be required to talk, hear and see; ability to manipulate objects with hands/fingers.
