Location: Amarillo, TX
Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:
Group 1 Ford of Amarillo is looking for a skilled and dependable Automotive Transmission Technician to join our growing team. This role is focused on diagnosing and repairing vehicle transmissions and driveline components to ensure the safety and performance of our customers' vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair automatic and manual transmission systems

  • Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild transmissions

  • Use diagnostic tools and repair manuals to guide work

  • Perform road tests to ensure issues are resolved

  • Communicate with service advisors to provide updates and recommendations

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas

  • Complete repairs efficiently and accurately according to Ford and dealership standards

  • Stay current with Ford training and certification requirements

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a transmission technician (Ford experience preferred)

  • Ability to diagnose and repair both automatic and manual transmissions

  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

  • Familiarity with Ford diagnostic tools and systems is a plus

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
