POSITION TITLE: Room Service Attendant
DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage (Room Service, Room Service Cherokee Tower)
GRADE/FLSA STATUS: H4 - Non-Exempt
BADGE TYPE/COLOR: Work Permit - Green
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Room Service
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide prompt, courteous food service to guests in accordance with established Room Service procedures. The Room Service Attendant position also is responsible for receiving, packaging, preparing and delivering Caesars Eats orders from a variety of food outlets on the property to the customer's location on property. This position is required to deliver excellent customer service as defined in the company's Family Style Service program.
JOB ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
  • Take food orders, assist in preparation and packaging of food and beverage orders
  • Serve or deliver orders to guest at their assigned location to include pool, hotel room or other on-property assigned location
  • Alert the necessary Manager if there are any guest issues, special needs situations, supplies and food items need to be replenished or other situations. Deliver orders to the specified room in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner, review the order for accuracy prior to leaving the room
  • Demonstrate proper etiquette and service procedures when serving all guests
  • Assist customers in ordering from the menu when applicable and record ordered items on check according to established procedures
  • Coordinate timing and efforts with the kitchen staff and ensure that all food products prepared meet the established specifications and standards prior to being served
  • Service guest checks in order as dispatched from the Room Service Coordinator
  • Ensure accurate payment for the services rendered
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers to ensure all orders are processed accurately and efficiently
  • Notify management of any guest complaints, alleged discrepancies and/or problems involving Room Service Caesars Eats
  • Set up the Room Service carts as instructed and maintain throughout the shift
  • Record all required information in the Room Service Attendants logbook
  • Assist in the complete set-up, and operation of each scheduled shift
  • Assist in the routine inspections and monthly inventories of Room Service equipment, wares, flatware, linen, etc. to ensure proper storage and maintenance
  • Complete assigned side work as directed
  • Familiarize self with all items on printed menus
  • Use good salesmanship for suggestive selling of menu items, beverages, desserts, etc.
  • Assist Coordinator in taking orders and processing all open checks and ensure they are properly tendered and/or accounted for at end of shift
  • Familiarize self and adhere to the principles of guest service skills, and use them in all interactions
  • Consistently demonstrate superior customer service skills by displaying outlined service behaviors
  • Maintain an upbeat and positive attitude, create an atmosphere of luck and positive energy with gestures and sustain enthusiasm from one interaction to the next
  • Build relationships by greeting guests with a warm, friendly verbal greeting
  • Anticipate needs and provide fast, flawless service
  • Check for satisfaction and effectively resolve service breakdowns when they exist
  • Provide a warm farewell and thank guests for visiting
  • Maintain knowledge of casino and hotel services, as well as local attractions in order to answer questions and provide assistance to guests
  • Maintain knowledge of current menu items and pricing, how the items are prepared and what accompanies each meal
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment, with all supplies needed to execute Room Service duties
  • Participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved with projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions
  • Deliver alcoholic beverages responsibly by adhering to proper liquor liability standards
  • Handle money according to procedure
  • Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to guidelines
  • Follow guidelines of the EBCI liquor laws as defined by the Tribal ABC Board
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Six months prior food service experience preferred
  • CARE certified
  • Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
  • Legible handwriting
  • Beverage and food service knowledge
  • Ability to carry food and beverages safely and professionally
  • Must be familiar with tray service
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required
  • Must be able to complete cash and charge transactions
  • Willing to learn and be adaptable
  • Attention to detail/observant
  • Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to carry and balance food service tray
  • Must be able to attend to multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Must be able to be on feet for 8-hour shift
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grasp items
  • Must be able to respond to visual aural cues
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds constantly
  • Must be able to possess the manual dexterity to grip necessary items (glasses, pens, garnishments, money, etc.)
  • Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop and twist when serving food and beverages
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
