Job Summary and Qualifications

Our freestanding emergency departments offer experienced emergency nurses the opportunity to continue practicing high-quality emergency care in a smaller, community-based setting. Compared with a large hospital emergency department, the environment often provides a more manageable and predictable patient flow, a close-knit care team, and greater opportunity for individualized patient education and connection. You will continue to use your emergency nursing skills while caring for patients across a wide range of conditions. Because the department operates with a smaller on-site team, nurses also practice with a high level of autonomy, collaboration, and accountability. Patients requiring a higher level of care are stabilized and transferred to the appropriate hospital setting.

This may be an ideal opportunity for an experienced emergency nurse who enjoys emergency medicine but is seeking a more focused practice environment with supportive leadership and strong team relationships.

  • Practice emergency nursing in a smaller, community-based setting with a close-knit interdisciplinary team. Experience a generally more predictable patient flow than a large hospital-based emergency department while maintaining your emergency assessment, stabilization, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Build stronger connections with patients through individualized care, education, and follow-up planning.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy and collaboration, with established processes for stabilizing and transferring patients who require a higher level of care.
  • NIGHT-SHIFT; 3 12-hr shifts; tight-knit team; engaging & supportive leadership.
  • Position will support both Free Standing Locations in Johnson County (Shawnee & Olathe).
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of accredited nursing school, ADN or BSN required.
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation,
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required. Current AHA ACLS to be obtain within 90 days of hire; NIH Stroke training to be completed successfully within 90 days of hire; TNCC REQUIRED within 6 months of hire. ENPC REQUIRED within 6 months of hire. PALS is preferred.
  • 1-year ER experience, required.
