Job description

Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Avalon Hotel Group, LLC. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

Overview

Opportunity to lead a 96-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Gonzales, Louisiana with direct access to ownership, operational control, and performance-based upside.

We are seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager who is looking for a stable, well-supported environment and takes full ownership of results, with a focus on improving operational and financial performance. The property is currently in a stabilization phase with clear performance objectives and strong corporate support.

This role offers direct access to ownership with the ability to make decisions quickly and implement changes when needed. Unlike large management companies, you will not operate through layers of corporate bureaucracy-you will have the autonomy to lead while working directly with ownership that understands hotel operations and enables performance-driven decisions. Ownership is actively engaged, providing direct communication and the resources needed to achieve consistent performance.

Why this Role Stands Outs

Marriott-branded property with strong market positioning
Direct access to ownership, enabling faster decision-making and immediate operational support when it matters (no corporate red tape)
Manageable 96-room asset operations
Performance-driven bonus structure with strong upside
Potential for future growth within a multi-property portfolio
Opportunity to take ownership of a property with clear performance goals and the ability to drive measurable improvement
Execute operational changes without corporate delay

Key Responsibilities

Take full accountability for translating operational performance into measurable financial results and guest satisfaction outcomes
Full P&L ownership of hotel operations in a select-service environment
Drive revenue, profitability, and cost control
Lead and develop department heads and hotel team
Improve and maintain guest satisfaction (GSS) and brand scores
Ensure full compliance with Marriott brand standards and QA
Oversee sales strategy and revenue management execution
Maintain strong control over labor, CPOR, and operational efficiency
Address guest and operational issues with urgency and accountability
Partner directly with ownership on strategy, budgeting, and performance goals

Current or recent Hotel General Manager experience required
Experience with Marriott brands strongly preferred
Proven track record of improving financial performance and guest satisfaction
Strong leadership, accountability, and team development skills
Solid understanding of hotel financials, labor control, and revenue strategy
Ability to operate independently while collaborating with ownership
This role requires hands-on leadership and accountability for results; candidates seeking a purely administrative or oversight position are not a fit.
Primarily Monday-Friday leadership schedule
Flexibility required to support hotel operations, including evenings, weekends, and Manager on Duty (MOD) coverage as needed
Ability to respond to operational needs and emergencies when required.

Base Salary + Quarterly Performance Bonus up to 25% of Base Salary, Sign-On Bonus, Retention Bonus. $73,000-$85,000

This company is an equal opportunity employer.
