Job description

The Bartender isresponsible for the complete set up of the bar area and the mixing of drinksfor all guests and servers. Need to maintain the service and cleanliness of thebar area, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and control over liquorinventory.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Lexima Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Lexima Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

FundamentalRequirements:
• Employeesmust at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests,managers and fellow employees.
• Processguests' checks, collect cash and process credit cards and room chargesaccording to standards.
• Performopening and closing side work according to standards to ensure that guests areserved promptly and efficiently.
• Preparebeverages and cocktails according to the standards, for mixing, portion controland presentation.
• Serveguests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous,and professional manner.
• Ensurethe lounge areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Befamiliar with the computer system.
• Carryout cashiering functions by closing checks and servicing the guest.
• Followall state liquor laws.
• Assistin maintaining beverage cost.
• Followprescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems withintoxicated guests, and when necessary, report to management.
• Completebeverage requisitions to maintain par levels as needed. (bottle for bottlemethod)
• Stockand clean glassware.
• Checksoda tanks to ensure that they are full and secured properly to the bar.
• Prepareall garnishes.
• Assistin cleaning of tables and all lounge area as needed.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education &Experience:
• Highschool diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related fieldpreferred.
• Mustbe of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages, according to local state laws.
Physicalrequirements:
• Flexibleand long hours sometimes required.
• Mediumwork - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds offorce frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise moveobjects.
• Abilityto stand for the entire shift.
• Previousbartending experience helpful.
