Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in the day-to-day operation of the hotel while helping deliver exceptional guest experiences, leading team members, and ensuring operational excellence. This role is ideal for an aspiring General Manager looking to grow into the next step of their hospitality career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the daily operation of the hotel to ensure outstanding guest service and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate team members while promoting a positive work environment.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing hotel associates, including brand and safety training.
  • Help oversee scheduling, inventory, ordering, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, franchise standards, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with employee performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, and documentation.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Maintain accurate operational and financial records.
  • Conduct or assist with team meetings and ongoing staff communication.
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives and assist with group and travel agent requests.
  • Perform General Manager duties in the GM's absence.
  • Assist in all hotel departments as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • Preferred 1+ year of hotel leadership experience in a Select Service or Extended Stay property.
  • F&B Experiencewith similar hotel brand
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and ordering.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Reliable transportation.
Preferred
  • Brand experience (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, or similar).
  • Associate degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
