ROLE SUMMARY: The Veranda Cocktail Server is responsible for delivering Legendary hospitality at Hotel Drover by providing attentive, efficient, and friendly food and beverage service in the pool, outdoor veranda, and patio areas. This role ensures that guests enjoy an exceptional dining and beverage experience in a relaxed, outdoor setting while reflecting the authentic spirit of the Fort Worth Stockyards. This is a seasonal role designed to support peak business needs, with anticipated employment through Summer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Greet guests warmly, take accurate food and beverage orders, and deliver items promptly.  

  • Build connections with guests by providing genuine service, anticipating needs, and embodying Hotel Drover’s values. 

  • Maintain a tidy and organized service area, including pool deck, veranda, and patio tables. 

  • Replenish supplies (napkins, condiments, utensils, towels, etc.) and assist with setup/breakdown for service areas. 

  • Collaborate with bartenders, servers, and support staff to ensure smooth service across multiple outdoor areas.  

  • Respond to guest questions or concerns with professionalism and escalate issues when appropriate. 

  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and health regulations while ensuring guest well-being. 

  • Assist with additional tasks as business needs arise, including light maintenance or restocking.\ 

  • Accurately take and process food and beverage orders using the POS system (MICROS), maintaining efficiency and attention to detail during peak service periods. 

  • Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to established service standards. 

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with kitchen and bar teams regarding guest requests, allergies, modifications, and proper timing of courses. 

  • Maintain professionalism, composure, and a guest-focused mindset in high-volume and elevated service environments. 

  • Utilize refined, luxury-focused language and service techniques to create memorable and personalized guest interactions. 

  • Collaborate closely with bartenders and support staff to ensure seamless service flow and an exceptional guest experience. 

  • Assist with additional tasks as business needs arise, including light maintenance or restocking. 

  • Assist with service across multiple areas, including lobby, backyard, and pool, as business needs require. 

  • All other duties as assigned. 

ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods 

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 25 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs with assistance. 

  • Comfortable working in an outdoor environment, including pool and veranda areas, in varying weather conditions (heat, humidity, sun exposure, wind, and cooler temperatures). 

  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform physical tasks associated with serving and maintaining outdoor areas. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and graciously with guests and team members. 

  • Flexible schedule — must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume outdoor service environment. 

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Previous outdoor/poolside or luxury hospitality service experience. 

  • Familiarity with POS systems 

  • Strong multitasking and time management skills. 

  • Food Handler and TABC certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
