Job description

Summary/Objective

The General Manager (GM) provides day-to-day leadership andstrategic direction for the hotel. This role requires maximizing sales andrevenue and driving overall financial returns, while overseeing all operations,including accounting, sales, and guest service. The GM is also responsible fordeveloping team members, ensuring execution of brand standards, and buildinglocal brand awareness.

We have properties throughout Kentucky and some in Ohio.

Essential FunctionsPeople & Team Leadership
  • Oversee all personnel, conductingregular evaluations, and recommending or executing HR actions in accordance withcompany policies.
  • Establish performance anddevelopment goals for team members, providing regular coaching, mentoring, and feedbackto enhance performance.
  • Develop and monitor programs andinitiatives, including succession planning, to increase team engagement and ensurefuture bench strength.
  • Organize activities and assignresponsibilities to employees to ensure overall productivity.
Financial Management & Sales
  • Prepare annual capital, cashflow, and sales and marketing plans to accurately forecast budgets.
  • Analyze financials to driverevenues, future profitability, and maximum return on investment.
  • Partake in financial activities,including establishing room rates, setting budgets, collecting payments, and controllingexpenses.
  • Use distribution channels andtechnology platforms to drive revenue and maximize market share.
  • Lead capital plans and assetmanagement initiatives, including working with owners to maintain or improvethe propertyโ€™s market leadership position.
Guest Experience, Brand & Responsible Business
  • Drive improvement in guestsatisfaction goals by establishing and implementing services that meet orexceed guest expectations.
  • Resolve issues regarding hotelservices, amenities, and policies.
  • Create and apply a marketingstrategy to promote services; demonstrate brand citizenship by maintaining compliancewith all required brand and service standards.
  • Act as the public relationsrepresentative to raise local community and brand awareness; coordinate withexternal parties (suppliers, agencies, etc.).
  • Ensure a safe and secureenvironment for guests, colleagues, and hotel assets. Develop and carry outaction plans to reduce the hotelโ€™s carbon footprint.
  • Perform necessary operationalduties as assigned, including serving as manager on duty, welcoming and registeringguests, and evaluating hotel performance to ensure compliance with health andsafety rules.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of workfrequently include nights, weekends, and unpredictable hours.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required for corporate meetings,training sessions, and market analysis within the region.

Education and Training
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree / highereducation qualification / equivalent in Hotel Administration, BusinessAdministration
Experience
  • Five to ten years of prior hotelmanagement experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience required may varybased on size and complexity of operation.
Specialized, Technical and Administrative Knowledge
  • Deep understanding of core hotelsystems (PMS, POS, HVAC, Maintenance).
  • Expertise in hospitalityaccounting, HR laws, OSHA standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in distributionchannels (OTAs, GDS) and revenue management platforms.
