Job description

The custodian will be performing a variety of custodial duties for restaurants to maintaining a clean dining environment for customers.  Such duties shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of Haidilao.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, deliver and/or serve items weighing up to 20-40 pounds throughout the entire shift(6-8hours)
  • Ability to stand and walk continually throughout the entire shift(6-8hours)
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach for products and items
  • Ability to work to various temperature environment, for example low temperature in the refrigerator and high temperature in the cooking area  
  • Ability to clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Ability to work in loud areas, for example, the music for special performance and/or loud noise from the dishwasher machine
  • Ability to attend work as scheduled, working various schedules and shifts throughout normal business hours

Education & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent work experience.
  • California Food Handler Certificate 
  • Fluent in English / Preferred languages: Mandarin and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the entire restaurant at all time, including the common areas, the restrooms, and waiting areas  
  • Responsible for the management of the sauce bar
  • Make sure the sauce and dishes at the sauce bar section is replenished on time
  • Maintain the cleaning equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expenses
  • Display welcome manner when meeting customers’ reasonable request 
  • Report any lost item to the manager immediately after found 
  • Deal with any ad-hoc incidents instantly and adequately, such as vomiting or the broken tableware, etc
  • Follow safety procedures and policy strictly
  • Assist colleagues actively and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork
  • Previous janitorial experience is preferred  
  • Good attitude and professionalism are a must
  • Obtain the California Food Handler Certificate
