Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love leading people, and enjoy bringing events to life? Rocky Top Catering is looking for an energetic, organized, and customer-focused Part-Time Catering Event Manager to lead our on-site event teams and ensure every event is executed flawlessly.
From elegant weddings and corporate events to university functions and private celebrations, you'll be the face of Rocky Top Catering on-site-leading the team, solving problems, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
What You'll Do
As a Catering Event Manager, you'll oversee every aspect of event execution while serving as the primary on-site leader.
Responsibilities include:
  • Review event details and prepare thoroughly before each event.
  • Execute event plans as outlined by the Sales and Operations teams.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise teams of 2-20 event staff during setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, guests, and vendors.
  • Ensure events are executed professionally and to Rocky Top Catering's high standards.
  • Jump in wherever needed-you'll be able to perform every position you supervise, including buffet service, bartending, serving, and setup.
  • Assign staff responsibilities and ensure efficient event flow.
  • Create a positive, energetic work environment while delivering a true "WOW" guest experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, company safety, and service standards.
  • Coordinate equipment, rentals, and staffing throughout the event.
  • Anticipate and respond to client requests with professionalism and urgency.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Complete post-event reporting, including employee time verification and event recap reports.
  • Assist with additional event-related duties as needed.
