PRIVATE EVENTS SALES MANAGER

Position Type: Full-Time | Salaried + Commission

Position Summary

Moersch Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced and driven Private Events Sales Manager to join our dynamic Events Team. Based primarily at Tabor Hill Winery, a premier winery and event destination in Southwest Michigan, this individual will be responsible for generating new business, nurturing client relationships, and overseeing the booking and sales process for private events including weddings, corporate retreats, celebrations, and wine-focused gatherings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals for private events.
  • Proactively prospect, identify, and secure new business opportunities through outbound sales, networking, and community engagement.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all private event inquiries, providing timely and professional communication.
  • Conduct site tours and client meetings to showcase the venue and offerings.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, and event agreements in alignment with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and generate regular sales and pipeline reports.
  • Collaborate with managers and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Represent Moersch Hospitality Group and its properties at wedding shows, local networking events, and industry functions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing to promote private event offerings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of sales experience in hospitality, event management, or venue sales.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for client meetings or events.
  • Passion for hospitality, wine, and creating unforgettable experiences.
Physical Requirements

The physical requirements described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer or workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting property tours, attending events, and meeting with clients.
  • Ability to frequently move throughout winery, restaurant, event, office, and outdoor spaces.
  • Ability to navigate stairs, uneven surfaces, outdoor terrain, and varying event environments.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform other movements associated with event preparation and venue activities.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or move items weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, including event materials, signage, displays, and supplies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, electronically, and in environments with varying levels of background noise.
  • Ability to perform job duties in both indoor and outdoor environments and tolerate seasonal weather conditions when participating in tours, events, and company functions.

Work Schedule amp; Availability

This is a full-time salaried position. The Private Events Sales Manager must maintain scheduling flexibility based on client and business needs. The position may require evenings, weekends, holidays, wedding shows, networking events, property tours, and other events outside of traditional business hours.

Travel between Moersch Hospitality Group properties and to community, networking, sales, or industry events may be required.
