Job description

As an audiovisual (AV) support specialist, you will oversee daily technical needs for all SCAD events, assist with classroom equipment, and manage the event calendar to ensure staffing needs are met. On a weekly basis, you will provide on-ground support for events. Each year, you will consult on AV hardware and software purchases. You will also support VIP events and lectures and work with the technology team to implement upgrades, migrations, and changes.
The ideal candidate can document changes to equipment configurations and is well-versed in software and hardware commonly used in technical events. They must be knowledgeable and experienced in live AV switching, auto-mixing on a digital console, and lighting control. The candidate has proven experience with portable and fixed AV installations, is well organized, and can support last-minute and special requests. Additionally, they are willing to attend internal and external training workshops.
Minimum qualifications:
  • At least five years of experience supporting AV needs for events in an enterprise, higher-education, production, or hospitality setting
  • Basic Windows OS, MAC OSX, Flash, PowerPoint, QuickTime, Keynote, and similar software proficiency
  • Experience connecting video conferencing hardware and software clients
  • Experience training both technical and nontechnical staff on AV equipment use
  • Hands-on experience installing AV equipment including TVs, media players, DVD players, digital signage, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and DAs

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
