Position: Vice President, Architecture and Business Development

Reports To: Senior Vice President

Department: Business Development/Strategic Growth

Job Type: Full-Time/Exempt

Position Overview

The Vice President, Architecture and Business Development provide strategic leadership across business development, client engagement, practice growth, and organizational initiatives for the organization’s architecture and design platform. This role is responsible for strengthening market presence, expanding strategic relationships, supporting long-term growth initiatives, and driving operational alignment across architecture and interior design business lines.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical, design and construction understanding of club and hospitality project types as well as executive-level business development and leadership expertise. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal leadership while helping support the continued evolution, integration, and growth of the platform. Extensive network in the golf, and/or hospitality industries is strongly preferred.

Core Responsibilities

· Lead strategic business development initiatives to generate new project opportunities and expand client relationships.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, consultants, industry partners, and key stakeholders.

· Represent the organization in executive-level meetings, presentations, networking events, and client engagements.

· Support market growth initiatives and strengthen the visibility and positioning of the organization’s architecture and design brands.

· Collaborate with executive leadership to identify strategic growth opportunities, organizational initiatives, and operational priorities.

· Partner with architecture, interior design, and project leadership teams to support business objectives and client delivery efforts.

· Provide leadership and guidance related to practice growth, client strategy, and organizational development initiatives.

· Support cross-functional collaboration across offices, brands, and business units to drive alignment and operational effectiveness.

· Contribute to long-term strategic planning efforts related to organizational growth, platform integration, and practice development.

· Partner with executive leadership in evaluating future growth opportunities, organizational structure initiatives, platform integration efforts, and strategic partnerships.

· Serve as a senior-level resource and representative for complex client relationships and business development pursuits.

· Extensive network within the private club, golf, and hospitality industry.

· Strong understanding of architecture, design, construction, or project-based professional services environments.

· Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and strategic growth initiatives.

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Design, Construction Management, Business, or a related field required.

· Master’s degree or professional degree in Architecture required.

· Professional certification (NCARB) is preferred.

· Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience within architecture, design, construction, or related professional services industries required.

· Proficient with industry-standard architecture and design software platforms.

· Demonstrated experience leading business development efforts, client strategy initiatives, practice growth activities, or large-scale project leadership required.

· Experience managing high-profile client relationships and complex projects preferred.

· Prior experience leading a practice, business unit, market sector, or strategic growth initiative strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.

· Ability to travel for client meetings, business development activities, project visits, and industry events at approximately 50%.

· Ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings.
