Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Spencer Hospital Surgery Center performs amultitude of specialties including: general, orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, and endoscopy averaging 550+ surgeries per month. Surgery business hours are Mon-Fri with minimal on call weekend and holiday rotations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
  • Maintain the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure, and to be constantly vigilant in the maintenance of the sterile field
  • Responsible for procedures related to cleaning, sterilizing, and assemble of equipment, supplies and instruments for use in medical and surgical interventions

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Surgical Tech program. Certification preferred
  • Previous surgical tech experiences performing multiple different specialties preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, caring attitude and be a team player
  • In addition, must be able to multi-task and triage items concurrently

Schedule:

  • 60 or 70 hours a pay period(Full-time Benefit Eligible)
  • 10 hour shifts Mon-Fri from 6:30a to 5p
  • On-call nights and weekends rotation
  • The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department
