Job description

US-Ohio-Burton

To work with and support the development of and technical service efforts. To comply with accredited testing for ISO requirements.


  • Weigh, mix, and cure formulations provided by chemists.
  • Perform efficiently and effectively required physical and aging testing of compounds.
  • Compile and present raw data to designated personnel.
  • Assist with generation of Measurement Uncertainty budgets.
  • Assist in development of work instructions for performed tests.
  • Report and participate in nonconformities and subsequent cause investigation resulting in corrective/preventive actions.
  • Participate in the training of new personnel.
  • Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management.

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science or related field, preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Five (5) years' laboratory testing experience, rubber testing, preferred. Aptitude in chemistry or knowledge of rubber chemistry.
  • Familiarity with ISO preferred.
  • Knowledge of Rubber ASTM (D2000) test methods preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer/systems skills - MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Strong cooperation and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to coach and develop Associates.
  • Ability to interact well in a team environment with all personality types.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
