Summary Description
The Senior National Account Manager, The Home Depot will serve as the business owner for the Gorilla Glue brand portfolio on The Home Depot account, responsible for driving sustainable growth, profitability, and long-term strategic direction. This role is designed for a highly driven commercial leader who operates with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
The individual will lead both strategy and execution, build trusted relationships with The Home Depot merchants and cross-functional stakeholders, and drive internal alignment to deliver results across The Home Depot retail and digital ecosystem, including stores, HD Supply, and homedepot.com.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Growth
  • Own and manage end-to-end The Home Depot business, including revenue, profit, and share performance
  • Develop and execute customer-specific strategies across assortment, pricing, promotion, merchandising, and eCommerce channels
  • Lead annual planning, line reviews, business reviews, and joint planning processes to drive sustained growth
  • Identify and unlock new growth opportunities by combining customer, category, competitive, and consumer insights
  • Build plans that support both DIY and Pro customer needs across priority categories and buying occasions

Customer & Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for The Home Depot merchants and key cross-functional partners
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationships that enable influence, collaboration, and long-term partnership
  • Represent the business with confidence and professionalism in high-visibility customer interactions
  • Actively engage with The Home Depot merchants and leadership through regular in-person interactions, store walks, market visits, and business reviews to identify opportunities and strengthen partnerships
  • Serve as an internal advocate for The Home Depot priorities while balancing company growth, profitability, and brand strategy

Strategy & Execution Excellence
  • Translate enterprise and brand strategies into clear, actionable customer plans for The Home Depot
  • Lead execution across pricing, promotions, assortment, item lifecycle, merchandising, and digital activation
  • Own line reviews, promotional/event planning, assortment optimization, new item launches, and SKU rationalization
  • Translate The Home Depot priorities into clear direction for internal cross-functional teams and ensure alignment
  • Partner with supply chain, finance, marketing, category management, customer service, and operations to ensure strong execution
  • Monitor in-store and online execution to identify risks, improve performance, and drive continuous improvement

Analytics & Storytelling
  • Leverage data, customer reporting tools, syndicated sources, and category insights to identify risks and opportunities and drive decision-making
  • Build compelling, insight-driven stories and high-quality presentations, including line reviews, business updates, and growth plans, that influence customer outcomes
  • Use customer, consumer, and competitive insights to recommend assortment, merchandising, pricing, promotional, and digital strategies
  • Clearly communicate business performance, key drivers, and recommended actions to internal and external stakeholders

Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead and develop team members, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a combination of commercial acumen, leadership capability, and internal drive.
  • Strong commercial foundation: Experience in CPG sales, account management, category management, or retail customer leadership with demonstrated ownership of customer business performance and P&L
  • Home improvement / retail channel expertise: Strong understanding of home improvement retail, merchandising, Pro and DIY shopper behavior, and the importance of in-store and digital execution
  • Exceptional internal drive and ownership mentality: Proactively identifies opportunities, operates independently, and demonstrates a strong bias for results
  • Confidence and professional conviction: Communicates a clear point of view and effectively influences decisions with both customers and internal stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or similar field
  • MBA preferred
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience
  • 7-10 years proven track record in CPG sales, account management, category management, or retail customer leadership
  • Experience directly supporting or leading The Home Depot account strategy and execution
  • Demonstrated proficiency in commercial strategy, customer planning, and sales execution
  • Strong analytic skill set with the ability to provide actionable recommendations based on critical metrics
  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Managerial abilities and leadership qualities
  • Ability to build, maintain, and influence customer relationships
  • Self-motivated nature and ability to perform under pressure
  • Working knowledge of The Home Depot supplier systems, processes, line reviews, merchandising, promotional planning, and replenishment strongly preferred
