A home care chaplain is a pastor who provides spiritual support to patients and families of patients in hospice or palliative home care. As a home care chaplain, your responsibilities are to visit with home care patients, their family members, and their caregivers, and offer spiritual support in the form of counseling, therapy, or simply compassionate listening. Your job duties include traveling between patient homes in your assigned area, facilitating individual or family pastoral counselling sessions, educating caregivers on spiritual issues, and helping patients live out the end of their lives with dignity.
