Punjabi Bilingual Individual Aide (In-Person)

NTC Language Services

Starting Pay: $25–$30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, School Hours (Short Term, Full-Time and Long-Term Opportunities Available)
Location: New York (School District Assignments)

NTC Language Services is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Punjabi Bilingual Individual Aide to provide one-on-one support to students in educational settings. This position plays a vital role in helping students achieve academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional success while ensuring meaningful language access between students, families, and school staff.

Responsibilities 

As a Punjabi Bilingual Individual Aide, you will: 

  • Provide one-on-one instructional and behavioral support to students throughout the school day.

  • Assist with implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior plans, and classroom goals.

  • Support communication between the student, teachers, school staff, and families in both Punjabi and English.

  • Reinforce classroom instruction and assist with educational activities.

  • Promote student independence, engagement, and social-emotional development.

  • Assist with classroom organization and lesson preparation.

  • Support positive behavior intervention strategies.

  • Collect observational data and document student progress as directed.

  • Assist students with activities of daily living, including mobility, feeding, and personal care when required.

  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a student-centered approach at all times.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing both Punjabi and English.

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).

  • Have experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. 

  • Be dependable, compassionate, and able to work collaboratively with school staff.

  • Meet all New York State and school district employment requirements, including fingerprint clearance. 

  • Have reliable transportation to assigned school locations.
