Job description

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary
The Playground Monitor at St. Gerard Majella Catholic School is responsible for supervising students during recess and outdoor activities to ensure a safe, positive, and respectful environment. This role supports student well-being while promoting appropriate behavior and reinforcing the values of Catholic education.
Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during recess and outdoor play to ensure safety at all times
  • Monitor student behavior and encourage positive, respectful interactions
  • Enforce playground rules and school policies consistently
  • Address minor conflicts and promote conflict resolution among students
  • Report any injuries, incidents, or concerns to school staff promptly
  • Assist with transitions to and from recess
  • Ensure playground equipment is used safely and appropriately
  • Maintain awareness of all students on the playground at all times
  • Model Christian values and respectful behavior in all interactions

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to supervise large groups of students effectively
  • Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills
  • Dependable, attentive, and proactive in ensuring student safety
  • Commitment to supporting a faith-based school environment
