Job description

What You'll Be Doing
The Sr Observability Engineer will support the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise observability solutions. This role will drive the product vision, roadmap, and adoption of monitoring platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT strategy. They will champion observability best practices and foster a data-driven culture across teams. Additionally, this role must be able to provide senior level engineering support for the platform(s) and tools enabling integration and usage.
What We're Looking For
  • Develop and execute the enterprise observability strategy.
  • Architect and maintain observability frameworks for cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Integrate and automate monitoring tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Halo ITSM, Apex AIOps, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk).
  • Define and track business-aligned KPIs; communicate value to stakeholders.
  • Enable self-service observability for engineering teams.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for observability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, Application, and business teams.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards.
  • Continuously improve observability practices based on feedback and outcomes.

What You'll Bring
  • Strong background in observability tools and practices (metrics, tracing, logging).
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and ITOM platforms.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps and automation.
  • Proven product ownership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Administration experience with AWS and Azure environments.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code.

Education & Experience
  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum Required: 5+ years' of experience in IT Operations, SRE, or similar roles.

Licenses & Credentials
  • Minimum Required: None.

Systems & Technology
  • Demonstrated experience with observability platforms, cloud, infrastructure, complex network, automation and infrastructure as code, data pipelines, security and compliance, event management and visualization.
  • Familiarity with KPI frameworks and CMDB integrations.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CKA, ITIL, or relevant vendor certifications (preferred, not required).
