Responsibilities:
- Operate metalworking machinery such as shears, brakes, punches, drill presses, and CNC equipment for cutting, bending, punching, drilling, shaping, or straightening sheet metal.
- Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, and soldering to create ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, partition frames, dust collection piping, and material handling systems.
- Install sheet metal products in compliance with specifications and building codes.
- Use rigging and hoisting equipment for installation.
- Inspect products and installations to ensure 100% adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain production pace throughout the shift.
- Follow supervisor and lead instructions.
- Must have own tools and pass a weld test.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, and work specifications.
- Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting skills.
- MIG and Stick welding skills required; TIG welding a plus.
- Strong math skills.
- Experience in weld fabrication with sheet metal and structural welding.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Willing to travel 50-75% (two weeks on, up to one month).
- Excellent attendance.
