Job description

Total Compensation: $85k- $90k

Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse looking to make a real difference in your community?

Join a well-established, mission-driven health center in Essex County, NJ that has spent decades supporting individuals living with or at risk for HIV. This is a welcoming, low-turnover team where nurses are valued, supported, and given the tools to grow. If you're fluent in Spanish and passionate about public health nursing, harm reduction, and patient-centered care, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do

Deliver HIV testing, counseling, and treatment support with compassion and discretion

Provide PrEP screening, education, and referrals for individuals at high risk for HIV

Administer vaccines and immunizations using safe injection best practices

Offer STI/STD testing and communicate results in line with New Jersey Department of Health protocols

Provide harm reduction services, including safer injection education and wound care guidance

Administer Narcan (Naloxone) to help prevent opioid overdose within the community

Support patients with education on HIV, Hepatitis A/B/C, STIs, diabetes, hypertension, and substance use effects

Provide culturally sensitive care to individuals actively navigating substance use recovery

Maintain accurate, compliant medical records per NJ Board of Nursing standards

Collaborate with a physician for medical oversight, standing orders, and lab testing protocols

Track and report clinical outcomes, testing data, and program metrics to support funding and compliance requirements

Connect patients to community resources, behavioral health services, and drug recovery programs

Respond calmly and effectively to emergent patient situations

Manage vaccine inventory, ordering, storage, and proper disposal

Qualifications

Active RN license in the State of New Jersey

Bachelor's degree in Nursing plus 1+ year of experience in HIV/AIDS care, public health, or a related field

Minimum 2 years of community health nursing experience

Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

Comfortable working with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness or active substance use

Strong communication, critical thinking, and documentation skills
