Job description

We are seeking a Buyer, responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services such as outsource of machine and fabrication part details for the organization. Review floor capacity and confers with machine and fabrication vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Liaison between internal manufacturing floor and external outsourced vendors. Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Ability to seek and develop new machine and fabrication vendors for the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Ideal candidate will have a background or familiarity with manufacturing, machine and fabrication environment
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to understand complex details and sub details of machine and fabrication parts
  • Reviews vendor quotes and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Estimate values according to knowledge of market price. Determine method of procurement such as internal source or outsource.
  • Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Expedite delivery of goods to users when necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or minimum one-three years related experience in machining/fabricating/outsourcing purchasing for high volume department. Strong communication skills and Microsoft Office applications.
