Summary
The Subcontracts Administrator IV is a senior-level professional responsible for managing complex subcontracting and procurement activities in support of government and commercial programs. This role provides strategic and operational support throughout the full subcontract life cycle, including solicitation, negotiation, award, administration, compliance, and closeout activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced knowledge of subcontract management principles, strong business acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams to ensure successful program execution and regulatory compliance.
Position Responsibilities
  • Lead cradle-to-grave subcontract administration activities, including preparation, issuance, evaluation, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and subcontract agreements.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with contractual requirements, delivery schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Administer and maintain subcontract files and procurement documentation in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable government regulations.
  • Monitor subcontract performance and support risk mitigation efforts by proactively identifying and resolving subcontract-related issues.
  • Coordinate with Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and Legal teams to support program objectives and subcontract execution.
  • Review and reconcile subcontractor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with subcontract terms and funding requirements.
  • Support and participate in subcontract negotiations, including pricing, terms and conditions, statements of work, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and present subcontract status reports, metrics, analyses, and management briefings to support business and program decision-making.
  • Interpret and apply FAR/DFARS requirements and company procedures to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior subcontract administrators and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal and external audits, corrective actions, and compliance reviews as required.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement, subcontracts, or supply chain management
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of procurement and government contracting principles (FAR/DFARS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS subcontracts principles.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift (up to 10 lbs.), bend, etc. Hand and wrist dexterity to utilize the computer.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • May require 10 % travel to Subcontractor sites and special company functions.

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental U.S. and internationally when required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required customer or government security clearances.

Work Location
  • On site in an office environment which is climate controlled
  • Initial work location will be Hybrid work with a minimum of 3 days on site based on business needs and leadership direction. Must be a commutable distance from an AV office.

The salary range for this role is:
$101,000 - $143,325
