Position Overview

A growing residential construction company is seeking a skilled Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations, vendor partnerships, cost management, and purchasing staff. This leadership role is responsible for driving purchasing efficiency, maintaining quality standards, improving profitability, and supporting construction operations through strategic planning and process management.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and experienced in residential construction purchasing, estimating, and vendor negotiations.


Primary Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchasing Operations

  • Direct day-to-day purchasing activities for residential construction projects and communities.
  • Supervise purchasing staff to ensure accurate material takeoffs, budgeting, and contract pricing.
  • Establish and improve purchasing procedures, workflows, and operational systems.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, work orders, and budget documentation.
  • Maintain accuracy of pricing information, selections, upgrades, and sales option data.

Vendor & Cost Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to maximize value and control costs.
  • Partner with construction, sales, and estimating teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement purchasing strategies that improve efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Estimating & Financial Oversight
