Recruiting Manager
Job Description
The Recruiting Manager is responsible for leading high-volume hiring efforts with a strong emphasis on commercial truck driver recruitment (CDL and non-CDL) while overseeing a small recruiting team. This role requires a proven background in driver recruiting and the ability to develop and execute effective recruiting strategies to attract, engage, and hire qualified drivers in a competitive labor market.
The Recruiting Manager will lead full-cycle recruiting activities, talent pipeline development, workforce planning, and recruiting operations while ensuring a positive candidate and hiring manager experience. This individual will partner closely with operations leadership to support business growth through effective and strategic driver hiring initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for driver and non-driver positions, with driver recruitment serving as the primary focus of this role.
  • Develop and execute innovative sourcing and recruiting strategies to attract CDL and non-CDL drivers.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a small team of recruiters while ensuring driver hiring goals and recruiting metrics are consistently met.
  • Partner closely with operations and fleet leadership to understand driver workforce needs and proactively address hiring demands.
  • Build and maintain robust pipelines of qualified driver candidates through sourcing, networking, referrals, industry partnerships, job fairs, and community outreach.
  • Support high-priority and hard-to-fill driver positions through hands-on sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate engagement.
  • Develop recruiting campaigns focused specifically on attracting experienced truck drivers and transportation talent.
  • Ensure a positive, professional candidate experience throughout the recruiting lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to coordinate interviews, hiring events, and selection activities.
  • Utilize recruiting technologies, applicant tracking systems, and sourcing tools to improve hiring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Track, analyze, and report recruiting metrics, including driver recruiting performance, time-to-fill, and hiring forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and requisition data within the applicant tracking system.
  • Communicate consistently with candidates, hiring managers, and leadership regarding hiring priorities, progress, and workforce planning.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience recruiting commercial truck drivers.
  • Demonstrated success meeting high-volume driver hiring goals in a transportation, trucking, logistics, or fleet environment.
  • At least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or overseeing recruiters in a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of driver recruiting challenges, transportation labor markets, and driver sourcing strategies.
  • Experience leveraging job boards, social media, referrals, and direct sourcing techniques to identify and attract driver talent.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with operations, fleet, and business leaders.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems; Workday experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This role operates in an office-based environment within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization. The Recruiting Manager will work closely with operations, transportation, and business leaders to support ongoing hiring initiatives. Success in this role will be driven by the ability to consistently attract and hire qualified truck drivers while building scalable recruiting processes that support long-term business growth.
