Job description

Job Title: Candidate Support Advisor
Work Location: Chicago, IL
Reports to: Assistant Manager of Workforce Development

Position Summary:
The HIRE360 Candidate Support Advisor (CSA) provides general support to our programs and services in the Construction, Utilities and Service Sector toward meeting contractual performance goals. The CSA is responsible for supporting all construction related programming, with particular
responsibility for the outcomes and performance of the Apprenticeship Readiness and Industry Led Training and Tutoring Programs. This position recruits, counsels, mentors, guides and advises participants as they explore and pursue their career pathway.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):
  • Recruit individuals who meet the basic requirements for apprenticeship programs including building trades, hospitality, and manufacturing.
  • Provide case management duties including candidate assessment, career guidance, resume development, referrals, follow-up, placement in supportive services, and data entry
  • Maintain accurate candidate records, including case notes, outreach efforts, placement data and any changes to candidate details overtime in HIRE360’s database
  • Assist with development and implementation of all programming including apprenticeship preparation, job readiness training, curriculum development, industry certifications, testing, and other programming, as necessary.
  • Provide overall support by leading, monitoring and supervising workshops and various program offerings.
  • Assist in managing apprenticeship and job including case management and reporting requirements.
  • Provide support for outreach, orientations, recruitments, trainings, and community events.
  • Perform regular follow-up with the respective candidates to ensure timeliness of the recruiting process.
  • Develop strong relationships within the community and labor partners
  • Actively participate in job order referrals by recommending qualified and pre-screened candidates; follow processes developed by team for open job orders based on employer requirements.
  • Analyzes construction-related reports from the database to provide accurate data regarding progress toward identified program goals.
  • Maintain professional relationships with community partners by providing and receiving referrals to resources and programming.
  • Perform general administrative duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities):
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and team-based project experience.
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Must possess the excellent judgment to prioritize work, handle multiple projects at once and meet objectives.
  • Very strong presentation skills to clearly articulate the end-to-end candidate journey and HIRE360 program offerings to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies.
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Minimum of High School diploma, post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workforce development and/or knowledge of implementing programs and training, and/or minimum of one to three years of relevant experience in a related field such as the building and construction trades, apprenticeships, training programs, or working with contractors.
  • General case management experience and the ability to effectively work with a diverse population is required.
  • Must have project management experience, utilizing planning and organizational skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
  • Prior workforce development experience, and bilingual (Spanish/English) are preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Talking in-person/on the phone consistently.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Stand and lift up to 20 pounds to stock office supplies
  • Frequently move from room to room to accommodate guests,
  • Requires reliable transportation including state mandated insurance
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
  • Monday – Friday. 9 am – 5 pm
  • Frequent overtime and weekends.
Travel
  • Significant travel within the Chicago area, in addition to Aurora, Waukegan and Rockford and other locations across Northern Illinois.
