Job description

RADIO HOSTS
The Host will research and write show scripts, as required, and then deliver both scripted and improvisational presentation on-the-air per directive of the show producer. The Host is also responsible for engagement with the show audience outside of episode creation, such as participation in social media properties, and in-person representing the show and network at special events, both within the network and on a corporate level.

This role requires an aptitude for audio production and an intermediate understanding of the internet. It requires a strong control over an authentic and charismatic delivery of show content. It requires a dedicated professional loyalty and investment to assigned programs, and also provides opportunity for developing new content ideas.
This position reports to the Station Manager either in-person or via telecommunication.
Responsibilities:
1. Research, vet, and complete audio episode & scripts per directive of show producer.
2. Write show or segment summaries for archive as directed by show producer.
3. Present on-the-air from scripts and improvisational as directed.
4. Refine writing and presentation work per feedback by production team.
5. Actively participate in online discussion, social sharing, ancillary productions and events to represent assigned show and the network.
6. Represent the brand of the show and network at all times while attached as a face or voice of assigned show.
Requirements:
1. Must have a genuine passion for hip-hop and hip-hop culture.
2. Minimum 1 year experience in broadcasting, audio production, marketing, or other related field.
3. Prior on-air experience strongly preferred but not required.
4. Two-year degree in relation field preferred.
5. Must be currently enrolled in accredited college to receive internship credit.
6. Authentic, passionate expertise for related show content.
7. Heavy experience and active knowledge of social media platforms and networks.
8. Adhere to appropriate content embargoes and NDAs.
9. Must be resourceful, proactive, and have a strong attention to detail.
10. Must possess strong communication and organization skills.
11. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
12. Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
13. Must have regular access to a reliable internet connection and computer that meets minimum system requirements for various related programs.
SOCIAL MEDIA COPYWRITER
The social media intern supports the team in creating, planning and managing content for all digital platforms. This includes current platforms (hiphoprevo.com, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and SoundCloud) as well as emerging.
Responsibilities:
Works with Station Managers, Hosts, and Writers to write content for all platforms. Supports the team by staying up-to-date on current social media platforms/applications and communicating industry news to teams on a weekly basis. Monitors media outlets, blogs, and social media for industry-related new and reports finding via daily communication. Provides social media consultations with other members of the team, as related to the radio station. Executes basic image editing with Photoshop for digital platforms.
Requirements:
  1. Must be pursuing degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Broadcasting, or Marketing.
  2. Intern must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
  3. Must be willing to commit up to 25 hours per week via telecommunication unless otherwise stated.
  4. Must have strong writing and editing skills.
  5. Ability to read and process information quickly and effectively.
  6. Strong understanding of social media platforms.
  7. Ability to perform basic edits in Adobe Photoshop CS6.
  8. Strong attention to detail.

CONTENT WRITER/BLOGGER
This position is ideal for someone who is naturally creative and gifted as a writer, but also has a tremendous business acumen and understands the importance of unique and compelling content (produced in high volume) to build brand awareness, drive web traffic, and generate leads. Employees telecommute and report to the Station Manager.
Responsibilities
  1. Work with Station Manager to develop content themes, story arcs, and write all content for blog posts, case studies, press releases, and more.
  2. Create writing Style Guide to ensure consistency in style, voice, writing approach, etc. across all content.
  3. Manage our content calendar, editorial process, and approval workflow.
  4. Stay up-to-date on all industry-related news.
  5. Write in-depth articles and news content as it breaks.

Requirements
  1. Must have a genuine passion for hip-hop and hip-hop culture.
  2. Must have strong writing and editing skills.
  3. Must be familiar with general html and site building for posting purposes.
  4. Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and out-of-the-box content ideas and angles.
  5. Understanding of content marketing in business and its role to fuel web traffic and support the sales process.
  6. Strong business acumen with an ability to put yourself in the target customer's shoes and think/write with their perspective in mind.
  7. Willingness to do the necessary research and data collection to inform unique and compelling content ideas.
  8. Ability to oversee a content calendar and mange the workflow to produce high volumes of content quickly and regularly.
