Health Information Technician/Coder

Fairfax Behavioral Health (a UHS facility): Fairfax Behavioral Health, founded in 1930, is a private, free-standing mental health hospital that specializes in psychiatric and detox treatment. We strive to meet and respond to the needs of our community by offering a continuum of care and evidenced-based programs at multiple locations within our region. We have behavioral health facilities and services located in Kirkland, Everett and Monroe, Washington. Mental and behavioral health challenges are a growing concern within our communities. Whether it is ourselves or a loved one, we will all likely be affected by behavioral health and mental disorders or illness. This drives our passion for providing evidenced-based outpatient and inpatient psychiatric treatment programs with successful outcomes.

POSITION SUMMARY: Monroe Location We are looking for a detailed Health Information Technician/Coder for our Monroe location. The HIM Technician/coder processes discharge charts, including ICD-10 coding, chart assembly and analysis, and data entry across multiple systems. This role also supports the HIM department by scanning charts and assisting the ROI Coordinator, completing departmental tasks, and helping the Director of HIM as needed. In addition, the position helps maintain accurate patient records while patients are in-house and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards.

QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent required. Experience: 2+ years of administrative experience; 1 year in a health care setting required Additional Requirements: CPC, or CCS, or RHIT, or RHIA. Successful completion of Verbal De-Escalation and Handle with Care certifications, and CPR; provided during Fairfax new hire training.
