Job description

Asphalt Distributor Operator

Location

Job located in Huron, South Dakota.
Relocation or commuting is required.


Company Overview

Asphalt Paving & Materials Company is a heavy highway paving contractor operating throughout South Dakota. We are seeking motivated and dependable drivers to support our asphalt laydown operation, shooting tack oil on our project sites.

Our laydown operations are historically based out of Huron and De Smet, South Dakota.

$28.68 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Modify computer settings to regulate flow of material at specified rate and adjust height of spray bar to adhere to SD D.O.T. specifications.
  • Maintain your truck and report any malfunctions to your supervisor.
  • Show up to work on time and sober.
  • Have the ability to approximately calculate how much tack is shot during each day.
  • Keep track of where you worked during the day, how much tack you shot, as well as any fuel that you used, and document that on your time ticket.
  • Unload a transport on to the tack booster, and then unload the tack booster onto the tack truck.
  • Perform a daily walk around to note maintenance issues and report them to your supervisor.
  • Perform daily safety checks on equipment, monitor fluid levels on, oil, water, fuel, and inspect for leaks or damage to machine before operation.
  • Clean excess tack off of the distributor bar, tank, hoses, tires, frame, and axle components.
  • Keep your truck clean, free of garbage inside the cab, and organized.
  • Help around the paver when the distributor is not needed.

  • Valid Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsment
