Metrology Logistic Coordinator

Program Summary
The KBR Metrology team supports manufacturing, engineering & test, repair & overhaul, and aftermarket service centers globally in support of Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Medical, Safety, Semiconductor and other industries. Our support includes services such as complete management of embedded metrology systems, calibration and repair, test & inspection, metrology engineering, preventive maintenance, NADCAP special process support, and AMS2750 Heat Treat pyrometry services and more. Our teams are located across the globe working in KBR and customer embedded laboratories as well as performing onsite visits with our field service operations and mobile laboratory platforms. Our teams work to ensure our customer systems are maintained to high standards through calibration, preventative maintenance, automation and programming, calibration recall system management, and audit support. We ensure great customer experience by tracking and providing performance and delivery metrics through digital dashboards, as well as routine customer service surveys and direct customer meetings.
Job Summary
The Metrology Logistic Coordinator manages the movement, tracking, and delivery of calibration equipment to ensure timely and compliant support of metrology operations. This role includes coordination of shipments, vendor communication, system updates, and required driving to perform equipment pickup and delivery while maintaining accurate records and operational readiness.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform calibration and certification of basic electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment according to technical specifications, ensuring traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
  • Coordinate the end-to-end logistics lifecycle for metrology equipment, including receipt, shipment, tracking, and return of calibration assets
  • Perform on-site pickup and delivery of measurement equipment between customer locations, laboratories, and vendors, ensuring safe handling and secure transport of sensitive assets.
  • Manage equipment intake processes, including verification, documentation, and system entry to ensure accurate tracking and status visibility
  • Package and prepare equipment for shipment in accordance with established procedures, ensuring all required documentation, labeling, and compliance requirements are met
  • Maintain accurate and real-time updates in enterprise tracking systems (e.g., IndySoft/MetTeam), ensuring visibility of asset status, location, and turnaround timelines.
  • Interface with customers, metrology technicians, and program management to communicate equipment status, priorities, and delivery timelines.
  • Follow established standard work instructions and continuously identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency, turnaround time, and asset visibility.

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 - 2+ years of logistics or coordination experience
  • Valid driver's license with required driving duties
  • Experience with tracking systems (SAP, IndySoft, MetTeam or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment and follow safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of logistics experience in technical or metrology environments
  • Experience with SAP, Maximo, or similar systems
  • Familiarity with calibration or metrology processes
  • Experience with vendor coordination, RMAs, and shipping processes
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 or regulated environments preferred
