Job description

Arrive Logistics is seeking a proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented Risk Manager to protect our operations against carrier fraud, strategic cargo theft, and operational risk. In this role, you won't just be managing risk behind a screen; you will be the bridge between the Risk department and our Carrier Sales teams. A massive part of your success will rely on your ability to build strong internal relationships, evangelize risk best practices, and teach our sales teams why risk protocols matter and how they protect our business.
The ideal candidate will combine a deep focus on theft prevention and ticket KPI management with the excellent communication skills needed to educate internal stakeholders, keeping Arrive safe without halting velocity.
What You'll Do
  • Operational Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the operational risk team. Manage daily workflows, set clear performance expectations, and foster a high-performing culture focused on continuous improvement and vigilant risk management.
  • Risk Mitigation & Process Optimization: Design, implement, and continuously refine robust risk mitigation processes. Audit existing workflows to close security loopholes, standardize risk assessment procedures, and ensure the team scales efficiently alongside Arrive's growth.
  • Internal Relationship Building & Education: Act as the primary Risk liaison to the Sales organization. Build strong, trusting relationships with sales leadership and reps to foster a culture of shared security. Educate and coach sales teams on the "why" behind risk protocols, empowering them to spot red flags early.
  • Ticket & Case KPI Management: Own the intake, triage, and resolution metrics for internal risk tickets. Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) around response times, resolution accuracy, and ticket volume to ensure the Risk team supports the speed of the business while maintaining strict security boundaries.
  • Advanced Theft & Fraud Prevention: Lead the implementation and monitoring of cutting-edge practices to identify and block fraudulent motor carriers, strategic theft actors, and fictitious pickups. Proactively analyze data to predict and neutralize vulnerabilities before they impact cargo.
  • Stolen Freight Recovery Execution: Act decisively in the event of a theft or hostage load. Coordinate immediate recovery efforts by partnering with law enforcement, and industry cargo task forces.
  • High-Value, High-Risk (HVHR) Oversight: Oversee the administration of Arrive's HVHR program. Ensure strict adherence to carrier vetting protocols, define permissible commodities, verify high-level insurance requirements, and audit compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to integrate risk management smoothly into daily workflows.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in supply chain risk management, with exposure to fraud and theft prevention within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Prior experience in law enforcement or established relationships with the law enforcement community is a plus.
  • Prior experience working within a freight brokerage environment is beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of freight and transportation industry fundamentals and knowledge of supply chain security best practices.
  • Strong moral and ethical compass, demonstrating integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with individuals at various levels within and outside the organization.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
