Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Plant Manager

Shift Hours: Monday - Friday; weekend availability and a flexible working schedule are required for this 40-hour per week position. Specific shift assignments will be determined by the direct supervisor or manager and are subject to change based on evolving departmental and operational requirements.

Position Summary:

The Boiler Operator is responsible for analyzing and maintaining temperature-critical systems that are essential to our manufacturing processes. You will ensure that heating, cooling, and boiler systems operate reliably, efficiently, and safely, in full compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsible for the safe operation of the high-pressure boiler in accordance with NJAC 12:90.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thermal analysis, testing, and performance evaluations to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, operating procedures, and process control diagrams for thermal systems.
  • Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams during equipment commissioning, upgrades, and daily operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and system performance while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all thermal processes meet applicable food safety, OSHA, and state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with thermal systems, preferably in food manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • New Jersey High Pressure Black Seal License required.
  • Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and energy systems.
  • Experience with process troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA), SQF, and GMP practices preferred.
  • Experience with thermal oil transfer systems preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
