The HVAC Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, profitability, and growth of the HVAC department. This role provides leadership to HVAC technicians, installers, and support staff while ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and achievement of company goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop HVAC service technicians, installers, and department staff.ย 
  • Monitor department performance, revenue, profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).ย 
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs, performance reviews, and training sessions.ย 
  • Collaborate with dispatch, customer service, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure operational excellence.ย 
  • Review and manage technician productivity, call quality, conversion rates, and average ticket performance.ย 
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of HVAC personnel.ย 
  • Address customer concerns and resolve escalated service issues promptly and professionally.ย 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.ย 
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.ย 
  • Analyze department reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.ย 
  • Support budget planning and departmental financial goals.ย 
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability and growth.ย
