Job description

Join the Shakopee Public Schools team and help shape safer roads and more confident drivers in our community. As a Behind-the-Wheel Instructor, you'll play a vital role in preparing students with the skills, awareness, and responsibility they need for behind-the-wheel lessons that extend far beyond the classroom and last a lifetime.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and engaging Behind-the-Wheel Instructor to provide hands-on driver's education to students, helping them build confidence, develop safe driving habits, and become responsible members of our community. This is a great opportunity to have a flexible schedule and add to your TRA high five!

What You'll Do

  • Provide behind-the-wheel instruction using safe, defensive driving practices
  • Teach and assess Minnesota road test skills to prepare students for the driving exam
  • Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and professional learning environment

Hours and Pay

  • 10-15 hours per week
  • $31 per hour

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license in any field/subject area AND valid Minnesota teaching license in Driver & Traffic Safety license
  • Clean driving record as determined by Shakopee Public Schools
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine interest in working with students and contributing to community safety
