Women Building Futures (WBF) is a high-impact non-profit that equips women for economic prosperity through industry-recognized trades training. We are building a future where more women access opportunity, advance in underrepresented industries, and transform their lives and communities.


The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications is a strategic leader who will shape how WBF engages prospective students, employer partners, donors, and philanthropic stakeholders.

  • This role sets and drives integrated marketing, brand, storytelling, and communications strategies that expand awareness, strengthen enrollment and alumni engagement, and increase investment in WBF's mission.
  • You will elevate WBF's voice, reputation, and market presence while strengthening the case for support among individual, corporate, and community partners.
  • With strong creative judgment and a sharp instinct for storytelling, you will build a proactive, insight-led function that delivers compelling campaigns, clear market positioning, and measurable impact.

Strategy and Leadership

  • Set and deliver the annual marketing and communications strategy in alignment with WBF's strategic and business priorities.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks that drive accountability,optimizeperformance, and inform executive decision-making.

Brand, Creative Direction and Storytelling

  • Strengthen WBF's audience strategy, data practices, and mailing lists to deepen engagement and expand reach.
  • Direct the development of content and storytelling that resonates with students, corporate stakeholders, donors, and the broader community.

Internal Partnerships

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to internal teams, bringing clarity, discipline, and sound judgment to competing priorities.
  • Build strong cross-organizational partnerships while managing requests with focus and consistency.
  • Partner with senior leadershiponcommunications initiatives, media relations, reputation management, and spokesperson support.

Vendor Management and Production

  • Lead external partners across creative, video, design, production, and media planning to deliver high-quality work.
  • Oversee the development of key deliverables, including campaigns, annual reports, video assets, and core marketingcollateral.

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, communications, or brand strategy.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic plans, budgets, and performance reporting.
  • Experience leading teams in small to mid-sized, fast-paced organizations.

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to influence students, partners, donors, and media.

Technical and Functional Expertise
