Our Colorado location specializes in creating advanced motion control solutions for NASA, defense, and commercial programs. Our work has played a critical role in thousands of projects, spanning from conceptual design studies to flight missions, including NASA's Artemis I Mission and the Roman Space Telescope. We are seeking technically brilliant individuals who are passionate about their work, thrive in collaborative environments, and have a laser focus on the details that drive excellence.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the development, design, test, and manufacturing of Honeybee Robotics' electronic Motion Control products. Starting with proposal support and labor estimates, you will shepherd multi-board designs through development, eventually transitioning a flight-ready product to the manufacturing and test engineering teams.

You will take charge of electronic design in project teams, help develop processes, lead design reviews, and collaborate with customers. This includes informal team task management, reviewing the work of other team members, and documenting work appropriately to get to "done."

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Electronic architecture development of motor controllers

  • Schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium

  • Technical team leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited technical college or university in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years of work experience in electronic product design
  • Extensive experience with embedded system design, including:
    • Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal Design
    • Board-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN)
    • Controlled impedance for high-speed channel design (SpaceWire, 10GbE, SerDes)
    • Linear and Switch Mode DC/DC Power Conversion
    • Documentation (Test Procedures & Reports, Interface Control Documents, ECOs)
  • Familiarity with:
    • Design Analysis and Simulation (WCA/WCCA, Reliability, Radiation, Spice)
    • Cable and Wire Harness Design
    • Signal and Power Integrity (SI/PI)
    • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
  • Extensive experience in prototype development, debug, and test in a lab environment
  • Proven experience crafting and launching products in regulated environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience crafting motion control and electromechanical systems for space environments
  • Successful history of leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers
  • Experience with:
    • EEE-INST-002 and radiation-hardness/mitigation

    • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

    • Generation of technical proposal content and labor/cost estimation

    • Altium Designer

  • Familiarity with:
    • DSP and Microcontroller firmware development
    • Cable and Wire Harness Design
    • FPGA Design (Verilog and VHDL)
    • System and functional requirements generation

Base Pay Range for:

CO applicants is $144,179.00 - $201,849.90

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
