Maintenance Helper, Full Time
Rate of Pay: $22.94/hour
Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Maintenance Helper to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.
Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for assisting maintenance personnel as needed in providing corrective, preventive and emergency maintenance needs of the property.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Performs simple related tasks to the trades.
  • Fix minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky spigots and faucets.
  • Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs and wall surface repairs.
  • Assists higher rated maintenance personnel and other departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Assist in maintaining shop and tools in clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Knowledge/Education/Experience: One (1) year maintenance experience required. Experience working in maintenance at a resort/ hotel preferred. High school or equivalent education.
Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: English speaking or bilingual. Ability to make timely, effective decisions. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments. Ability to maintain good team member relations. Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external guest relations. Ability to provide legible written communications. Strong analytical skills. Strong oral and written skills, able to interpret and present information to management. Strong attention to detail. Dependable.
