We are supporting a major greenfield gold mining project currently in the construction and execution phase, with activities extending through to Q3 2028. This is a site-based leadership role responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of a large-scale mining development.

The Construction Manager will play a critical role in bridging engineering and field execution, ensuring designs are constructible, contractors are effectively managed, and project objectives are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with safety and regulatory expectations.

This role requires a highly experienced construction leader with a strong background in large-capital mining or heavy industrial projects, particularly in remote and regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all on-site construction activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring safe and efficient execution of works.
  • Review engineering designs and provide constructability input to ensure practicality, efficiency, and field execution alignment.
  • Direct and coordinate multiple contractors to ensure adherence to project schedule, budget, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively manage risks, constraints, and field execution challenges.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, including MSHA requirements and site-specific safety protocols.
  • Liaise closely with Project Management teams to provide regular updates, reporting, and progress insights.
  • Review, validate, and approve contractor invoices based on verified field progress and contractual agreements.
  • Interface with regulators and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance and supporting project approvals where required.
  • Support and participate in community and stakeholder engagement meetings as a project representative.
  • Foster a strong safety-first culture across all construction activities and contractor teams.

Working Conditions

  • Fly-in/Fly-out or rotational site-based role.
  • Schedule: 3 weeks on / 1 week off.
  • 12-hour shifts on site.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of construction experience in large-scale industrial or mining projects.
  • Experience with greenfield gold mine construction.
  • Owner's representative construction management experience.
  • Proven experience delivering greenfield projects, preferably within mining or heavy industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with crushing circuits, process plants, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Strong track record of delivering projects with CAPEX of $250M+.
  • Experience working on projects in the United States with working knowledge of MSHA requirements.
  • Prior experience interfacing with regulators and leading stakeholder/community engagement activities.
  • Strong leadership experience managing contractors in complex, multi-discipline construction environments.
  • Ability to operate effectively in remote, fast-paced project environments with high execution demands.
  • Comfortable with rotational schedule.
