Job description

Our team is small, our clients are real, and the work you deliver goes live and matters. If you are a QA professional who takes pride in quality as a discipline, not just a checklist, we would love to talk.

Who are we?

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Pinellas Park, Florida, West Point Insurance Services provides technology and business services to carriers and MGAs in the property and casualty insurance industry. Our platform InsurSys powers quoting, binding, policy administration, claims, billing, and reporting for a growing portfolio of clients. Our team is over 100 strong and growing. We operate with the intimacy of a small company and the responsibility of an enterprise platform. Everyone here has real ownership of their work and that includes QA.

Why work with us?

We are a family-oriented organization committed to providing competitive compensation and benefit packages to our employees including:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits starting day 1 of employment
  • Multiple plans to choose from in order to fit your needs and the company pays 90% of the employee only premium for medical coverage

  • Generous PTO and paid holiday schedule
  • 1 day of paid volunteer time off per year
  • Onsite workout facility
  • Casual dress code (work appropriate)
  • Hybrid Office Setup with 3 days in office and 2 days remote

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a mid-level QA Analyst who can work independently, owns their testing process from test case creation through UAT handoff, and brings genuine curiosity to defect investigation. You will be embedded in our Agile development team, working closely with BAs and developers across every sprint from refinement through release.

You will also be one of the primary points of collaboration with our clients during UAT so the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders matters as much as your testing execution skills.

Day-to-day testing

• Create, maintain, and execute manual test cases aligned to business requirements and acceptance criteria

• Execute, monitor, and maintain automated test scripts

• Write clear, detailed defect reports that developers can act on immediately; including steps to reproduce, severity, environment, screenshots

• Verify bug fixes and regression test affected areas

• Manage your own testing workload across multiple sprint items simultaneously

Sprint participation

• Attend and contribute meaningfully to all Agile ceremonies daily scrum, refinement, sprint planning, retrospective

• Collaborate with BAs during refinement to evaluate acceptance criteria for testability before stories are pointed

• Work closely with developers during active sprints to unblock issues and reduce rework

• Participate in go-live prep meetings and post-deployment smoke testing

UAT & client collaboration

• Support clients through the UAT testing process helping them understand what to test and coordinating defect resolution

• Work with the BA team on defect triage during UAT, determining severity and path forward for each issue

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and standards across the team

Requirements:

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

• 3–5 years of hands-on QA experience in a software development environment

• Solid working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and how QA fits into the sprint cycle

• Proficiency in SQL you can write queries to validate data, trace defects, and confirm expected system behavior

• Experience testing web-based applications across multiple browsers and environments

• Strong defect documentation skills your bug reports are specific, reproducible, and immediately actionable

• Clear written and verbal communication you can explain a technical issue to a developer and a UAT concern to a client contact

• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently without needing constant direction

A strong plus:

• Experience with Azure DevOps work management, test plans, or both

• Insurance software knowledge or P&C industry experience

• Experience with test automation scripting, maintaining, or expanding existing automation frameworks

• ISTQB Foundation certification (Agile modules especially valued)

• Familiarity with UAT coordination managing client testing cycles, not just executing test cases internally

Additional info:

Our offices are located at 7785 66th Street N., Pinellas Park, FL (3 days/week in office, 2 days remote)

Typical office hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday–Friday, with occasional flexibility around sprint go-lives
