Job description

Summary Provides technical support for laptops, PCs, mobile devices, printers and peripherals to restore service and deliver solutions to meet user requirements for all employees of the City of Lubbock. Essential Functions Reviews and prioritizes user requests for service and support; schedules work; Installs and tests computers and equipment, peripherals and software. Installs and configures printers; Installs, repairs, and troubleshoots PC's, Printers, Electronic Technology peripherals as dictated by everyday business needs; Resolves help desk issues for users; Evaluates new hardware and software to determine functionality and compatibility with existing configurations.

Additional Duties: Executes routine computer repairs and installation; Performs related work as assigned. Qualifications Completion of a bachelor degree in management information systems, computer science, or a related field. Related experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-to-year basis.

No specific experience required. Any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: Physical Exam Required Valid Driver's License Critical Infrastructure: This position has been determined to have close contact with, or control of Critical Infrastructure components. This position is subject to extensive background checks and random drug screening.

No Class B Misdemeanor convictions within last 10 years No Class A Misdemeanor, Felony Convictions or Family Violence Conviction Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of: IBM-compatible workstations. Physical Requirements: Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds.

Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Frequently bend and kneel during the shift. Frequently push and pull objects.

Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees. Frequently rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing. Place arms above, at, and below shoulder height.
