Job description

Who is Credible?

Credible is a leading U.S. consumer finance marketplace, transforming the way consumers access and compare financial products. We operate at a consumer and enterprise level. On the consumer side, we help millions of people make smarter financial decisions by comparing personalized, pre-qualified offers across student loans, personal loans, mortgages, credit cards, and insurance — all without impacting their credit score. On the enterprise side, we power financial product comparison and distribution through deep integrations and partnerships with lenders, insurance carriers, and financial institutions, as well as providing marketplace technology and capabilities to third-party partners and distribution channels.

About the Role:

Credible is looking for a data-driven, results-oriented Data Analyst to join the Business Intelligence and Analytics team. This role, which is aligned to the Insurance team, will be integral in providing insights that inform company decisions across several business functions including user acquisition, brand marketing, product development, finance, and operations. This is a great opportunity for you to join a growth stage company and contribute to the success of our products and the continual improvement of our user and customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business functions within the Insurance team to understand their analytics needs and produce dashboards and analytics solutions that allow them to execute more effectively
  • Work with business leaders to define key metrics and build reporting to monitor performance along those metrics
  • Identify data gaps and work with Engineering to fill those gaps
  • Work with stakeholders to develop requirements for data models in our data warehouse that enable performant, intuitive analyses
  • Conduct in-depth investigative data analyses that lead to actionable insights, owning the entire process from ideation to execution to presentation of findings to stakeholders
  • Help structure A/B tests, establish goals and define instrumentation and logging requirements for tests and features
  • Collaborate effectively with Web, QA, and Data Engineers to productionalize data

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS in a quantitative field
  • 3+ years of work experience as a data analyst, data engineer, or in a highly analytical role
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with messy data required
  • Working knowledge of dbt
  • Experience leveraging visualization/reporting tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing
  • Strong grasp of statistics and experience conducting rigorous data analyses
  • Experience with a scripting language (preferably Python) for data processing and analysis a plus
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry or at a startup preferred

Must have:

  • An investigative spirit and a drive for clear proactive communication with stakeholders and partners
  • The capacity to juggle multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment is critical
  • You're a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Anticipate business needs and think with a business owner mindset – think critically about analyses, don't just complete them
  • Passion for spreading the value of data and communicating insights to a broad audience with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Strategic thinker who champions data-driven decision-making and builds strong data practices across teams

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay ranges for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, are listed below.
