ATI is currently looking for a Heat Treat Operator within our manufacturing facility in Cudahy, WI. As a Heat Treat Operator, you will be an integral part of a successful team that is responsible for producing machined in military, aerospace, oil/gas and other applications.

As a Heat Treat Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to heat equipment, such as heat-treating furnaces to temper, harden, anneal, and/or heat treat metal. In this position you will be required to perform heating and cooling operations necessary to impact physical properties in forgings to conform to our customer specifications

Training will be conducted on 1st. Permanent shift will be 2nd shift Monday - Friday 3:00pm to 11:00pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare furnace loads in accordance with detailed furnace load map
  • Prepare and assembles load thermocouple
  • Load forgings into heat treat furnace and removes from furnace after required heating using a combination of manipulators and forklifts
  • Move completed furnace load to appropriate cooling station
  • Set furnace temperature controls to suit type of material and process.
  • Monitor furnace operation and performance as required
  • Process forgings through quench and cool operations
  • Work from specifications, chart, detailed work instructions, etc.
  • Generate and update required reports to document process parameters
  • Operate Brinell/Rockwell hardness testing equipment determining the hardness of forgings after heat treatment
  • Create move tickets after heat treatment processing is complete
