Job Duties

The Behavioral Health Operations Manager is responsible for the operational oversight, workflow management, and day-to-day administrative functions of Behavioral Health services across OneWorld Community Health Centers. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Operations, this position ensures the effective, efficient, and compliant operation of Behavioral Health clinic services through leadership of Behavioral Health Referral Navigators and operational support staff.

The Behavioral Health Operations Manager works in close partnership with the Associate Medical Director of Behavioral Health, Associate Behavioral Health Directors, and clinic leadership to support quality patient care, improve access to services, optimize workflows, and achieve organizational performance goals. While collaborating closely with Behavioral Health leadership, this position serves as the primary operational leader for Behavioral Health clinic operations, patient navigation services, scheduling processes, quality initiatives, and departmental performance within the behavioral health department.

  • Organizes and oversees the day-to-day operations of Behavioral Health services to ensure efficient workflows, timely patient access, and exceptional customer service.
  • Develops, implements, communicates, and continuously evaluates Behavioral Health operational policies, procedures, and workflows in collaboration with Operations and Behavioral Health leadership.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of referral processes and mental health resources throughout the community.
  • Directly supervises Behavioral Health Referral Navigators and other assigned operational support staff.
  • Oversees therapist and referral navigator scheduling processes to maximize patient access, provider productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintains operational oversight of Behavioral Health office space, equipment, supplies, and inventory while adhering to approved budgets.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience supervising patient navigation, referral management, case management, or operational support staff preferred.
  • Experience in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, workflow improvement, scheduling, quality improvement, and performance management.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and healthcare compliance requirements preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic health record systems.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish required.
